While National Day is officially on 2nd of December, City Centre Mirdif is kickstarting the celebrations early and visitors to the mall can enjoy a special UAE-themed exhibition from 29th of November through until 5th of December.
There will be face-painting, origami and tech stations at City Centre Mirdif as part of the mall’s National Day celebrations
The exhibition will play host to lots of unique experiences, ranging from a colourful origami station, where you can create your personalised decoration, to face painting for the little ones and a tech area for guests to type their own personal message of love for the United Arab Emirates.
There will also be a live art area where you can watch as painters expertly work their brushes to create amazing pictures, along with a fashion calligraphy artist who will create bespoke sketches for visitors using the colours of the UAE flag.
All this, plus you can look forward to catching a not-to-be-missed traditional Emirati dance performance set to take place 3 times a day from 29th of November through to 7th of December.
Logma, in City Centre Mirdif, is a popular eatery serving up delicious Emirati and Khaleeji cuisine
If you fancy something more filling, head to nearby Middle Eastern restaurant Awani or Logma for a delicious Khaleeji feast with your family and friends.
What is UAE National Day?
In a nutshell, the annual event commemorates the historic occasion in 1971 when six sheikhdoms, formerly known as the Trucial States, came together to form one country – the United Arab Emirates. Ras Al-Khaimah joined the union in 1972. Along with celebrating the unification, both the UAE flag and the country’s founding father and 1st President, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, are honoured at this time.
