In association with GEMS Royal Dubai School, shoppers visiting the eco-friendly mall on April 5th from 4.00pm will be treated to an innovative catwalk show that combines art and science in an inventive way to emphasize the importance of sustainability.
Hot on the heels of Earth Hour, and as part of the highly-anticipated Mirdif Fashion Weekend, City Centre Mirdif and GEMS Royal Dubai School will be showcasing wearable fashions made from aluminum, paper, plastic, and all means of crinkly fabric from other diverse materials, as a way to help spread consciousness about recycling.
Set to take place on April 5th from 4.00pm in the mall’s Central Galleria, 25 children from GEMS Royal Dubai School will take to the stage – all dressed from head-to-toe in the innovation outfits they have made out of recycled materials. Combining art and science in a unique way to emphasize sustainability, as well as drawing on the students’ resourcefulness and artistic skills, quirky ‘Trashion’ garments will include dresses, hats and skirts. Throughout the eco-friendly catwalk show, children’s parents will also be treated to a delicious complimentary high tea courtesy of MBCo café. Visitors to the mall can also book a high tea by emailing: [email protected]
Moreover, further complementing City Centre Mirdif ’s Fashion Weekend – occurring between April 5th and April 7th – the most imaginative and vibrant ‘Trashion’ garments will be displayed in a special exhibition surrounding the runway. Plus, during the fashion-centric three days, visitors to the mall will also have the perfect opportunity to watch exclusive catwalk and beauty shows, where they can preview the latest runway must-haves and beauty tips and tricks.
